... and one more thing

As though wallpaper on ceilings (which sounds to me as horrific as snakes on planes!) weren't bad enough, I realized that lost in the translation (and my ranting) is a very important fact not known to most people.

Dave's 5'7 and I'm 5'5 (ok probably only 5'4 but I really wanna be taller, so lemme win just this time).

So a recap:

  • Two short people
  • lots of swearing
  • lots of margaritas
  • and MORONS WHO WALLPAPERED AND PAINTED A CEILING!

Now now....murder ain't legal over there in Canada either. But we can all wish it, right?

When we moved into this house, the ceiling of our older boys' room had horrific acoustical tile on it. The removal of said tile revealed water-stained 1940's wallpaper. I feel your pain.

I'll keep your secret...

And Dave's :)

ElaineMI: nah, no such wishes

wordgirl: Oh man. Suddenly? I feel like I've got no complaining. Who are these wallpaper-the-ceiling people? And why aren't they all on a giant spaceship to mars for their decorating crimes?

Sara: pretty sure I blew my own cover but thanks :)

I feel your pain. Are you ready to kill anyone yet? You owe Dave something really really nice if he's got it almost finished now. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Wallpaper is the devil's work.

TB: Nah not ready to kill anyone yet. Dave did a wicked job on the ceiling part, and I did most of the walls so it was pretty much a joint effort most of the way. Wallpaper truly is the devil's work.

Oh, our first house had string-and-paper wallpaper. I tell you, it took hours to clear a couple of square feet. HELL. The only thing that made it better was getting a couple of freidns to help with the soaking/scraping and wearing a tiara while doing it.

I would have gone with covering it with tin celing or the paintable wallpaper that looks like it. At least it is charming...

Kittenpie: you know that string and paper wallpaper was actually coming back a few years ago... hopefully that's all been put to rest for now though. The tin ceiling is a great idea- if only we'd thought of it before. I think (hope!) the results will be worth it. s
