Chickadees

Is there anything cuter than a little chickadee at your feeder flying in to grab a seed and scurrying off to the cedars? I think not.

No, no bird is cuter.

We have a metropark about 40 miles from us and during the spring I've walked the hiking trails and taken bird seed with me. I've found a place to sit and hold some seed in my hand and have had the chickadees land in my hand to eat. Now, THAT is sooooo cool.

Yeah I've done that with chickadees and grey jays too- they're totally fascinating little creatures. It's amazing how light they are.

Scott and I went to feed the Chickadees awhile back at Stoney Swamp in Ottawa... (they eat right out of your hand too...) and one of the birds that came to get some seed was a Nuthatch. It was totally pushy with the chickadees too.
We do that every time we're in Ottawa... great to walk in the woods and have the little guys on your hand.
