Handy household tips from the 'shwa

I'm always up to hearing housekeeping tips, suggestions, and ways to keep organized. Mostly because my house is a mess and I'm completely disorganized.

Today, though, I have one to share with my legions of readers. Yes, all two of you. (Hi mom, Hi dad!)

My suggestion is simple, and, like many of the best solutions, comes from experience.
Here goes:

Your bathroom will smell minty fresh and clean if, after slathering your cold, raw hands with hand lotion, you spill the entire bottle of scope mouthwash all over the counter, toilet, floors and walls.

(sadly, your teeth and mouth won't smell minty fresh, though, and the air will be somewhat blue from the experience.)

I'm reading. Can't remember how I first came upon your blog, but it was interesting enough that I made it a favorite and continue to lurk.

anonymous: I guess i should change it to "Hi mom, Hi dad, Hi anonymous!" then. Feel free to de-lurk and tell me more about you!

ooh ooh,

*waving hand in the air*

you can add me too!

BTW. How do you get them to stay still long enough and are moths really that smelly in the first place? ;)

surviving motherhood: Once again someone's totally outed me on a bad type-o. I would guess that "mothwash" as I typed it is a product yet to be invented, and I'd imagine it'd have to be pretty delicate to actually wash a moth - at least they seem delicate to me. Mouthwash, what I would have typed had the brain-finger part of the equation been functioning is all mintey and will make your bathroom smell all clean-like. I wish I'd thought to use the stuff when I had boys as housemates.

Spilled mouthwash? I wonder if that would kill odors in the boys' bathroom. It's worth a try.

Hey, maybe I should try that!

NOT.

You can also get that "clean smell" by spilling a loosely capped bottle of Tilex all over!

I'm all about PineSol. It really is the smell of clean. But thanks...

And about stained glass - it would depend on how that piece is made and where it is. Feel free to email me if you want to know more bout that or glass in general. I'm not an expert, but I have some good basic knowledge I'm willing to share! (nykittenpie@yahoo.com)

Fantastic tip! Right up there with my own discovery - forgetting to rinse the Ajax out of the shower will give your tired feet that "tingly, alive" feeling!

Ha! That reminds me of the joke:

Have you ever smelled mothballs?

Really? How did you get their little legs apart?

So we were clearly separated at birth. That is SO something I would do.

Um ... thanks for the ... er ... tip.

Wow. Great tip.
I have twice now confused my bottle of mouth wash and my bottle of eye makeup remover. Not good.
