Cooking in the shwa

I'm starting to realize that I'm getting married in about four months, and that my bum has become more comfy now that I've been living with Dave for about seven months. I'm also realizing that unless I do something about said comfy bum I will in short order be "the woman standing in front of 150 people in a church with back fat spewing out the back of her dress," and having that look immortalized in hundreds of photos. Imagine my excitement.

So in the "trying to eat healthier" vein I decided to make grilled mushrooms for dinner. And, since it was super easy and, at least from my perspective sinfully delicious I thought I'd share.

Take some portobello mushrooms caps. Pierce them with a fork so that any liquid from cooking them drains away. Place on a rack so they can drain, add garlic and whatever spices you'd want, and if you're feeling bad some cheese. I used thin slices of boring old low fat cheddar but you could use some wicked provolone, goat cheese, feta, anything really. Throw them in the oven on broil for about 10 minutes on a rack halfway down the oven. Voila! They're yummy and probably aren't too bad for adding to the comfy bum state.

Holymama: Mushrooms have the same hold on me too. Nice to meet you - I'm the moron who posted pictures of her dinner on the internet. Yeah I think my moron beats your claimed level of any day. Oh and welcome and thanks for stopping by. :)

mmm...I LOVE grilled portobellos

BUT since being preggo with baby #2, I can't eat them. They give me a horrid stomache ache from hell. Weird, eh?

Izzy: Very weird! I'll be crushed if that happens to me.

Yum! Good idea! I love mushrooms and need to trim the bum myself.

Mushrooms are divine!

It's funny the thought of wearing the wedding dress never fails to motivate the magical bum shrinking act. It certainly worked for me.
Butt, two pregnancies later and it's Back!

gingajoy: I've heard pilates is great but have no money to do classes, so I've been running mostly. Yay bum shrinkage!

debbiedoeslife: I should be clear here, it's not just the buns that need trimming, it's everywhere.

something blue: You'd think the wedding dress would be an amazing motivator, but so far it hasn't. I've already ordered it a size too big, so it's hard to picture it fitting well. Hopefully it'll get even bigger in the next couple of months!

wordgirl: I actually gained lots of weight after a car accident a few years ago, and lost (most) of it, so I'm all in on the water drinking. I'm a heavy drinker.
