Good idea, bad idea

GOOD IDEA: Buy beautiful grey cashmere sweater (hereinafter known as "good idea sweater") which shows just the right amount of cleavage without looking like you should be standing on a street corner wearing ripped red fishnets and a short white tube-top style skirt. Even better idea, buy one that's on sale which is perfect for going to bars on winter nights without also freezing. Have fond memories of the many phone numbers you amassed because of this shirt.

GOOD IDEA: Fall crazy in love and get engaged to a guy who is wicked good at getting laundry done. Throws it all in the washer, then all in dryer with amazing ability. Even better idea when you really suck at laundry.

BAD IDEA: The "throw it all in washer then in dryer" style as it pertains to above good idea sweater. Sadly good idea cashmere sweaters do not appreciate the washer-then-dryer on high heat method.

EVIDENCE:
Excuse the Marie Antoinette look, but here is Dave modeling the sweater, and one pic of my sunglasses on top of it. I'd guess it'd fit most five year old girls, and probably Victoria Beckham. When he came up to show me, he couldn't stop laughing and apologizing profusely. He even tried to stretch it so it'd fit again but we quickly learned he couldn't get his elbow past the shoulder part. We both agree it's a lost cause.

I did that to a sweater of Bill's that my brother and his wife had given him for Christmas. While I felt bad about ruining it and thinking of the money they spent on it, I wasn't sorry because the sweater was U G L Y!!!

elaine: thanks, but I think I'll pass, given that I haven't had the need to tromp to a bar sans-coat in the winter for some time now. Think those days are probably over.

Sara: Not sure Henly would like his little girl in a boob shirt, though it'd probably fit her.

Wordgirl: I was a tomboy so no barbies here.... but, your suggestion gave me the greatest idea... think I'll see if it'll fit Rhett my overweight tabby! :P

That is a tragedy, oh man. I did that to an Irish wool sweater of Jeff's when we were first dating it got so small it wouldn't even fit me. So sad.

TB: I think my bar hopping days are over, so it really wasn't that big a loss, but I can see how an irish sweater would be. Can I ship you one of mine that's too big? :P
