I love this shirt!

When I was a kid my dad used to take me sailing on Saturday mornings. Not conventional sailing, like the rich kids in my class did, but yard sailing. We weren't exactly wealthy but there were usually great treasures to be found (and some junk) early Saturday mornings, usually on our bikes. There were always interesting characters at yard sales too- one lady we saw pretty regularly got nicknamed "BO" for her, uh, let's call it aroma.

One game we brought home (to my mum's delight) from our treasure hunt was "hungry hungry hippos." I think it took less than 3 minutes to become a game we could only play outside on the deck becuase of the racket it made. It somehow disappeared, and probably ended up in a yard sale of its own, to be inflicted on some other unsuspecting family. I came across an ad for this t-shirt and am seriously considering buying it, if only for the nostalgia factor.

OMG - and you didn't buy it??? you totally should have. I think half the marbles ended up under the deck...

"NOOOOO mr hippo - don't eat that!!"

Hah yeah I think they did all end up under the deck.

And yes, that incident at the Detroit Zoo was highly disturbing. On another hippo note I watched a documentary about them and how their... um... crap basically supports an entire ecosystem. Now how many of us can say that? Apparently the hippo at the Detroit Zoo decided he didn't want to be so charitable and kept it all to himself as a snack. Bleh!
